Gurit rejected the first design, composed of BeMatrix frames and a canopy structure, for not reflecting the ingenuity of their brand. The company was seeking a more “innovative” design that featured graphics and lighting.

O'Hagan’s interview explores the artist’s skeletal tree paintings, but also is an examination of the artist himself. Oehlen’s interpretations of trees, being abstract and minimalistic in nature, are painted on the artists’ substrate of choice, Dibond aluminum composite.

Artist Helps Elementary School Students Create Floor To Ceiling Mural On Healthy Living In Their City

Muralist, David Fichter of Cambridge, Massachusetts, recently worked with a local elementary school to assist in the design and construction of a large mural showcasing healthy living in the town of Danvers. As part of a grant, from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the John Thomas Schroeder Foundation, Fichter oversaw the project and assisted the students in their endeavor, which was sponsored by the DanversCares community Coalition.

UK Artist Creates Captivating Exhibition Using Several Different Substrates

Genesis Imaging, in London, recently completed a large-scale exhibition project for artist Gayle Chong Kwan’s ‘Anthropo-scene.’ The project utilized several different substrates, in large and small format, to include, “…Direct to Media UV prints on Dibond, marine plywood and glass, Lambda C-type prints, Giclee Fine Art prints and Bespoke framing for the multilayer installation that explores the built environment, strata and waste, in relation to the City of London,” according to experts at Genesis.

Dibond Helps German Designer Create Compact Functional Closet

German-based product designer, Moritz con Helldorff, and his team create furniture, lighting and other accessories. Utilizing cutting-edge production techniques, the team is committed to both “traditional craftsmanship and modern design.” In one of his independent projects, Helldorff created the Aluneed, a multifunctional closet space for the German consumer. The fully functional closet, according to Helldorff, is “designed to hold the clothes of an average German man.”

Lard Buurman, trained Dutch photographer, travels the world examining the every day life of human beings. Starting his photographic exploration in Europe, he traveled to China to examine urbanization in the second and third world. Interestingly, that’s what brought the artist to Africa where his “Africa Junctions—Capturing the City” photography series was created.
